I, Dr. Ekwo, was born in Providence, RI to hard-working Nigerian parents who immigrated to America in search of a better life and education for my brother and I. Following high school I moved to Washington D.C. to attend Howard University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Chemistry. Shortly after graduation, I relocated to Jackson, MS to attend University of MS Medical Center, where I obtained my Medical Degree and completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. During this time I met the love of my life, my husband Emeka who was residing in Houston, Tx. Upon successfully completing residency I relocated to the Houston area to work and start our family. Prior to joining Pristine OB-GYN care I practiced at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, where I joined the medical staff as the first female OB-GYN. During my time there I had the pleasure of teaching several nurse practitioner students during their Women’s Health rotation. I have also participated in many local activities within the community in an effort to increase patient awareness and education.
I enjoy every aspect of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a special interest in adolescent and teen gynecology, high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive procedures, outpatient surgeries, health maintenance and general gynecology. I enjoy my profession and enjoy working with women. I like to say that Obstetrics and Gynecology chose me!
